Gordon and Buchan Public Transport Survey

Since becoming the Member of Parliament for Gordon and Buchan, I’ve heard from countless constituents about the extremely poor state of public transport across Gordon and Buchan. Only four towns in the constituency are served by a train station—and even those services are infrequent. Major towns like Ellon, Oldmeldrum, and Turriff have no rail connectivity at all, having lost their train lines decades ago. This would be manageable if appropriate alternative options existed, but we are all too aware that in many towns and villages this is not the case.

Local bus services are so unreliable that many residents have simply given up trying to use them altogether. The current network fails to provide regular, dependable services and do not meet the needs of commuters, patients or those who want a social trip across the county. Many villages in the constituency simply have no bus service at all, or are served by as few as one or two buses a day.

For years Aberdeenshire has been neglected in favour of the Central Belt in terms of funding, resources and infrastructure, and it is time for change. That is why I am campaigning for major improvements to public transport across Gordon and Buchan to restore lost services and expand reliable, modern transport options.

To help me push for the right improvements, I need to hear from you.
