Venison is a rich source of nutrients that is healthier, and often more sustainable then beef and chicken! It was great to visit Tullynessle Deer Farm this week and congratulate them on their recent success in the 2025 North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards, having been named the Best Young Business 2025. Like many other areas of farming, venison farming faces severe challenges such as the Family Farm Tax, but also more unique challenges such as limited supply chains and the struggle of raising awareness of the nutritional benefits of eating venison.
